Thanks to Turner Classic Movies For Another Great Memorial Day Weekend War Movie Marathon

My Dear America:

I didn't watch them all but I watched quite a few of the Incredible array of War Movies that Turner Classic Movies featured on their Movie Channel over the past  Memorial Day Weekend War Movie Marathon.

As usual TCM brought out the Big War Movie Gems Like the Academy Award winning Blockbusters including "The Bridge On The River Kwai", "The Dirty Dozen" and "The Great Escape" along with many other Civil War, World War I and World War II Movies.

I must admit that watching these classic Films filled me with a burning feeling of Patriotism and love for my country but now after watching a weekend of films about Americans fighting against Nazis and Facists, as well as against each other it fills me with a kind of dread about what we are currently experiencing in our country at the present time.  Although our predecessors fought hard to keep Nazi's from taking over the world we seem to be currently in the early days of a Full Blown Nazi takeover of the United States of America which could unfortunately lead to a Nazi takeover of the World.  

How in the hell did this happen?

How did we allow ourselves to get bamboozled by a Con Man Dictator Loving Jerk who is now in the throes of Dementia as he supervises the denigration and dismantling of our Government, while the Republican Party refuses to accept the fact that they have hitched their bandwagon to a Super Corrupt Madman who is quickly going to take them down with the rest of us.

I want to personally thank TCM for giving us at least a weekend of Patriotic Fervor while we watched their carefully selected movies that showed us just how brave and dedicated our Military Heroes were back in the day.  They always seem to feature Great Films but it seems as though they really outdo themselves on Memorial Day Weekend.

It is difficult for me to fathom how we have come so far down the rabbit hole so fast.

Last year at this time Donald Trump was being convicted of 34 Felonies in a New York City Courtroom and he was also facing several Federal Charges which should have put him in jail, rather than in the White House.  

Although Trump's former Right Hand Man, Michael Cohen went to jail for over two years for the same crime that Trump was convicted for, Trump, by getting elected, escaped jail time for that crime.

Also after he was elected his Federal Charges disappeared and the Supreme Court not only gave Trump a get out of jail card, they gave him a Do Anything You Want Card.

Most of the heroes who saved us from the Nazi Menace are gone now.  Many died in countries where they fought and many have died of old age.  We only wish that more of them were still around to inspire us to fight like hell to keep our country from becoming a Dictatorship with little resemblance to the Patriotic Democracy in which we used to live.

On June 14th we will have the opportunity to join in a Country Wide Demonstration to show that we are not satisfied to live under Authoritarian Control.

Our Fallen Heroes gave their lives for Liberty and Justice For All.

On June 14th and every other day of our lives It is time for the rest of us to give our support for Democracy and for Democrats because at this point  what is left of the Republican Party Seems to be a lost cause.

The Good News Is We Have A New American Pope Named Leo IV

 

In addition to writing my Blog since 2008 I began during 2020 to also begin a Podcast called "Podcast For A Lost Nation" in which I repeated my Blog Posts as Podcast Episodes.  The reason I started doing this was because I was worried that Donald Trump might be re elected in 2020.  He was not re elected at that time but I continued my Podcasts anyway.  Although My listeners have been few in number (Mostly Friends and Family Members) they have let me know how much they appreciated the Podcasts and I have always, up to now, included a Podcast every time I Posted on my Blog ever since 2020.

Unfortunately, I must apologize to my Podcast listeners  for not including this Blog Post as a Podcast Episode.  I had set up my Podcast on Spotify and I want to say that I have appreciated the fact that Spotify is a fantastic resource for many things including Podcasting.  I only had one previous problem when my Podcast was unavailable for a short period of time which was easily resolved through Spotify Support.

Recently, however, I have had some problems with my "Spotify For Podcasters" account page which up to now I have not been able to access and resolve with Spotify Support. I am hopeful that this problem can possibly be resolved and that I can at that time continue my Podcasting.  

In the meantime, I am going to continue Writing my Blog Posts and Posting them on "Letters To A Lost Nation" with the hope that I can resolve my issues with Spotify and continue recording my Podcast Episodes soon.

With America racing toward Dictatorship at a rapid pace, Israel Turning Gaza into a New Version of A Reverse Holocaust and Ukraine being unfortunately abandoned by its important Western Ally, The United States, there hasn't really been a lot of good news lately.

Certainly it was not good news when Pope Francis passed away recently but he was not a young man and he had left an extremely positive legacy throughout his Guidance of the Catholic Church during his reign as Pope.  

But today as we observe the increasingly vicious treatment of Illegal Immigrants in the United States and elsewhere in the world and await the impending awful results of Donald Trump's Tariff Obsession there has finally been some good news arriving in the world.

The White Smoke from the Vatican Stovepipe has announced that after a very short Conclave a new Pope has been chosen to lead the Catholic Church in what some are calling "The New Dark Ages".

Now I am what some would call a "Fallen Away Catholic".  I was divorced and consequently could not receive Communion for many years.  I only recently found out that this restriction had been done away with by Pope Francis.  The truth is that I have spent more time in my life attending Baptist Church Services than Catholic Masses but I don't want to get too far into that story.  Although I was not attending Catholic Services for many years I was brought up as a Catholic in a Catholic Family and even though I haven't been to Catholic Church in Decades I still think of myself as a Catholic and undoubtedly always will.

So it is with a high dose of Catholic Pride that I find myself thrilled with the selection of Robert Prevost, an American Cardinal and Augustinian Priest who speaks several languages and has an outstanding reputation as a man who is much in the mold of his predecessor who cares deeply about the poor and downtrodden immigrants who have been treated so shamefully by many world leaders, including American President, Donald Trump.

I certainly think that those of us who still believe in treating our fellow human beings with kindness and respect are happy with the Choice of Leo IV as the new Pope.  Indications are that this man of the cloth is the real deal, just like Pope Francis was.  His opening messages to the world are clearly messages which are already angering MAGA and without a doubt will still anger MAGA as time progresses.

MAGA figures like Laura Loomer and others seem to be really upset that Pope Leo is, unlike them, a man who sincerely believes in the teachings of Jesus and is prepared to continue the Immigrant loving and caring for programs of his predecessor.

One of Pope Leo's first actions has been to show his solid support for President Zelensky and the country of Ukraine which continues to try to keep it's Greedy Russian Neighbors off its property.

It will certainly be interesting to watch what happens in the coming Weeks, Months and Years as our complicated world only seems to become even more complicated.  

In the meantime, all of Mankind can benefit from the wisdom of Pope Leo.  Whether or not Mankind will choose to pay attention to the latest Leader of the Catholic Church is an open question.

I certainly hope they will.  

     

One Hundred Days Of White House Horrors - They're Back Again

I can still recall back in the 1970's when President Nixon was being investigated by the "Senate Watergate Committee" on television every day.   The Committee Chairman, Senator Sam Ervin seemed to enjoy referring to what had gone on during the Nixon Administration as "The White House Horrors".  Nixon and his henchmen did truly horrible things but I have to say that in retrospect the Nixon White House Horrors seem to pale in contrast to the "White House Horrors" of only the first hundred days of the Second Administration of Donald Trump.

As we stand at the end of the first hundred days of the Second Coming of Donald Trump I, like most Americans am exhausted and overwhelmed by the actions of Trump and his band of ass kissers.  His Cabinet meetings look and sound like something that should belong in Russia or North Korea.

And By the Way, Russia and North Korea appear to no longer be our enemies.  They are our Allies now, according to the new Trump Doctrine which also threatens our previous Allies including Greenland, Denmark, Canada and Mexico, Ukraine and many of our other previous Allies.

What the hell is going on here?  I don't know.  It all seems very strange to me.

I made the mistake of watching as much as I could stand of the ABC News 100 day Interview with President Trump that was broadcast on Tuesday Night.  I was surprised to find out that it seemed as though whenever Interviewer Terry Moran brought up a problem in America for discussion Donald Trump had the same answer over and over.

"It is all Joe Biden's Fault."

Now I am willing to admit that some things that have gone wrong might actually trace back to the Biden Administration, but at this point, a Hundred days out and God knows how many Executive Orders Donald Trump has Issued maybe it might be time for President Trump to take at least some responsibility for his own actions and in many cases blunders.  

But No, Not when he was talking with Terry Moran.

Everything that is wrong is Biden's Fault.  But Everything good is Trump's doing.

It seems as though every single thing that Donald Trump has done or is planning to do is straight out of the Project 2025 Playbook.  That is strange because it might be remembered that during the Presidential Campaign Donald Trump claimed total ignorance about what was in "Project 2025" and yet everything he has done since his inauguration is straight from that plan.

What is clear, however, and is becoming even clearer each day is that Donald Trump and the group of people who he has gathered around him are incompetent to a level that I don't think we have ever seen before.  To a man or woman, although they are all great at heaping praise on their Fearless Leader, none of them seem to be very good at their jobs and that certainly includes the Fearless Leader, himself. 

At every level in this Government Incompetence abounds.  Nobody seems to know why These people continue to flounder and embarrass themselves in everything they do.

Why is Trump OK with Pete Hegseth leaking Top Secret Battle Plans when others have done hard time for the same obviously criminal conduct?

Why has Elon Musk been set loose upon the Federal Government with the blessing of Donald Trump?

If Musk and DOGE are looking to trim Government and save money why in the hell are we sending both Legal and Illegal Aliens to Salvador Prisons and paying a fortune to the Salvadoran Government to keep them there.?

We Americans have endured a Hundred Days of Hell on Earth in the past Hundred days and quite honestly it doesn't look to me as if our suffering has very much of a possibility of improving any time soon.  

As we continue on our "America First" program we might say Goodbye to our Allies who have been there for us for so many years and say hello to our new Allies Like Russia and Hungary and Saudi Arabia.

Its a New World, People and certainly not a Good one.

But there is hope on the Horizon.  Bernie Sanders is coming back to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on Saturday May 3rd at 1:00 PM At the Stabler Arena. At Least for now Some of us have that to look forward to.

Bye Bye Bill Maher

I have had mixed feeling about Bill Maher for a long time - Still do.

i have followed Bill Maher's career for a long time.  I thought Bill was treated very unfairly by ABC who canceled his excellent show "Politically Incorrect" when he made a comment about the bravery of the 9/11 hijackers killing themselves for their cause. 

He was telling the truth, after all

He lucked out after this by agreeing to host a Controversial Comedy and Interview show on HBO called "Real Time With Bill Maher." which has been a mainstay of HBO programming for many years, at this point.  

When I finally broke down and got HBO I began watching Maher's show as often as I could catch it.  

His show was excellent much of the time and for the most part for a long time I found myself agreeing with much of his comedy and commentaries that tended to be rather left leaning and progressive.  He was an early supporter of Bernie Sanders and other Democratic causes, from what I could see.  He wasn't afraid to express controversial opinions and was from early on a blistering critic of Donald Trump. That Blistering Criticism has continued for many years now but something weird has been happening to Bill Maher for some time now.

His Left leaning Liberal view of the world has been showing some cracks in the Foundation more recently.  He has always been controversial but usually that controversy has been more left leaning than right leaning.  The obvious change of Bill Maher's world view has been hard to watch for me.  Although I still enjoy his comedy I find it many times harder and harder to laugh at the strange and terrible things that are happening in our world.  

I certainly found Maher's shameless, undeserved and humiliating statements about our previous Honorable and Capable President of the United States, Joe Biden,  Objectionable and certainly Not Helpful to the Democratic Party at a time when Democratic Unity was certainly called for to save Democracy in our country.

Maher was one of the early critics demanding that Joe Biden step aside and give up the Presidency even before the Disastrous Debate Fiasco.  Certainly, watching the result of what has apparently happened in the last election (I still don't trust the election results based on Elon Musk's statement that "Anything can be hacked") when Donald Trump regained the Presidency We Americans have watched in Horror as Trump, with Musk's assistance has begun to tear this country's Government apart with a Vengeance. 

After Maher has pretty much built a career on, among other things, trashing Donald Trump throughout much of his HBO Television career it was disturbing to say the least when word leaked out about the prospect of Bill Maher planning to meet with Donald Trump at the White House.

In this past week's HBO Show Bill Maher sat on a stool to talk about his meeting with Trump.

In preparing for the meeting with Trump Maher prepared a paper listing all of the disparaging comments that Trump had made about Maher.  Maher took the list along and seemed to be impressed by the fact that Donald Trump was willing to sign the sheet and Maher produced the sheet for the camera to show the oversize Trump signature.  That was not the only thing about the meeting that impressed Maher.  Throughout the meeting Trump apparently acted like a normal human being would act and Maher seemed to be impressed with that.  

Indeed, the entire explanation of what happened while Maher was at the White House was that Maher was impressed by Trump's normalcy during their meeting and especially the fact that Trump actually laughed like a normal human being.

Seriously Bill, What the hell had you been expecting?

Maybe you were worried about being carried off to some CIA Black site to be tortured and Trump surprised you by acting like a normal human being.

As someone who has admired Bill Maher's long history of independent thought I am recognizing that Bill Maher may not have joined the Donald Trump Fan Club but certainly seems to be doing what he can to normalize Donald Trump.  Although Maher seems to think that is a good thing I don't agree with him.  I do agree with his premise that there is too much hate in politics these days but I don't think that we should forget about how reckless and far out of the mainstream Donald Trump's politics has become.  

Trump is a menace to all Americans who believe in Democracy and who care about our allies, including supporting Zelensky and Ukraine over Invaders from Russia.

Donald Trump has been an actor and a phony all of his life so Bill Maher is surprised by the fact that he can act normally for a couple of hours.  Maher has shown himself to be a phony himself as he has continued to normalize not only Trump but Kid Rock and Steve Bannon and other right wing nuts on his program.  He seems to be proud of the fact that he is joining the Republicans in Congress, Trump's Cabinet, many Law Firms and Tech Giants in Capitulating to the Fearless Leader like those poor Fools in Germany did in the Thirties.

I probably should state that I will never watch Bill Maher's show ever again but I will not do that.  Despite Maher's rather shameless capitulation to Donald Trump Maher does continue have a very interesting show with many interesting and relevant guests.  

I will continue to watch "Real Time With Bill Maher" but with far less trust in Bill Maher than I have ever had before.

My Dear America:

"Hey Mama, We're All Crazy Now" was the name of a Hit Heavy Metal Song that was popular back in the day when we still had a Democracy in America and we still had Leaders who weren't "Crazy".

It is a song that all of us should be singing these days.

After all of Donald Trump's weird insistence that the outrageously high tariffs were permanent and Non Negotiable and after tanking the Stock Market Guess what.

There is a "Pause" in the tariffs.  They are now down to 10 Percent for nearly every country except for China who will get over a hundred and Forty Five percent tariffs. 

And what is the reaction by most of the Republican Party.

"Jeez, Donald Trump is such a genius".

Good God, what in the hell is wrong with these people.  

Donald Trump is playing with the World economy like it is his personal toy and you Republicans are OK with that.

I just don't get it. I really don't.

What is it going to take before you Republicans wake up to the fact that you Re elected a man who did a terrible job the first time around and now you rewarded him last last November with another four year term as President of the United States.

This is crazy.

And speaking of Crazy how about What is happening with Trump Mistakenly Sending Kilmer Armando Abrego Garcia to a Salvadoran Prison and refusing to get him back home to Maryland where he belongs with his Wife and 2 children where he was living legally and working legally as a sheet metal apprentice.

I know that Donald Trump will never admit that he is wrong or that he made a mistake.  

But he did make a mistake in this case and instead of trying to fix it he is doubling down and is getting Supreme Court Cover in a reckless move that is even more heartless than his first term separation of children from their parents. 

These first Few Months should have shown us that Donald Trump is a man who has way exceeded the Peter Principle and is way out of his depth being back in the White House with only Syncophants in his Administration who will not do what those few brave individuals did during his first term and tell him 

"No President Trump.  You can't screw around with the world like this, changing your Tariff policy day by Day and locking up innocent people in prisons all over the world isn't right.  

It is unfortunate that we are stuck with the worst President of Modern times but I think there may be signs of hope on the horizon.  

We can look with favor and with Pride at the outstanding recent 25 hour tour de force by Senator Cory Booker in the United States Senate.

We can also be Encouraged by the many protests we have seen conducted all over the country advising Donald Trump that he is seriously out of step with the vast majority of Americans.

I wish that President Trump would stop pushing us off a cliff every day he is in office.

I know that President Trump admires Strongmen Dictators but I wish he would give some thought as to how many of these Strongmen have ended their sick careers when their time was up.

Cases in point: Saddam Hussein, Adolph Hitler, Benito Mussolini, Mummar Khadafi.

Maybe it might be a good idea for Donald Trump to Get the hell out of the Presidency while the getting is good. 

But then we would be stuck with JD Vance and nobody wants that.  

I guess we'll just have to live in Crazytown for a little while longer.

Donald Trump's Administration's "Perfect" First Two Months

My Dear America:

I was rather surprised when I watched The Rachel Maddow Show on Monday Night of March 24th and found out that President of the United States, Donald Trump had called the first Two months of his Presidency "Two Perfect Months".

I also found out on Rachel's show that Trump was calling the scandal involving pretty much most of his Intelligence Team some of his favorite words including 

"Hoax" and "Witch Hunt"

When Trump was asked by Journalists about "Signalgate" Which was the incredibly dangerous, stupid and reckless addition on a Signal Communication Chat of Journalist and Atlantic Magazine Editor, Jeffrey Goldberg, Trump at first said he didn't know anything about it.  

Goldberg stated that he did not know why he had been obviously accidentally added to the Signal Chat which he claimed was discussing the details of an upcoming bombing mission targeting Houthi rebels in Yemen.  Once Goldberg realized who was on the Signal Chat and what they were discussing he took himself off the Chat.  

When Goldberg revealed that he had been included in the Signal Chat he did not at first reveal any of the extremely detailed information he had received about the Houthi bombing. But on March 27th Goldberg did release some additional details about the Houthi Bombing Raid that had been inadvertently revealed to him after Trump and other Administration Intelligence officials including Defense Secretary, Pete Hegseth and National Security Advisor, Mike Walz began denigrating Goldberg and claiming that the Signal Chat did not include any Classified information.

According to several individuals with extensive National Security backgrounds that were interviewed about the detailed plans that were revealed to and by Jeffrey Goldberg were details that despite Administration officials claims that they were not Classified, according those interviewed, reasonable National Security Standards should definitely have Classified the specific times and other Attack Plan Details as "Top Secret" or "Secret" Information.

Two of the Participants in the Signalgate Chat, Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard and CiA Director, John Ratcliffe were unlucky enough to be scheduled to testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee at a hearing on "World Wide Threats"  on Capitol Hill this past week following the revelations about Signalgate.  This gave the Democratic and Republican Members of the Congressional Committee who received their testimony an opportunity to ask these two individuals about the Signalgate Incident.  As could be expected The Democratic Committee Members vigorously grilled the Administration Officials but unfortunately did not get much information out of them.  Republican Committee Members asked the officials almost nothing about Signalgate.

Rachel Maddow pointed out on her program that Donald Trump has called Signalgate the "Only Glitch in an otherwise Two Perfect Months" of his Administration.  Rachel Maddow also documented several other Serious  "Glitches" in this first two months of the Second Trump Administration including the following "Glitches":

Following Donald Trump and Elon Musk sending threatening E Mails to Federal Aviation Employees including Air Traffic Controllers stating that they should quit or be fired, shortly afterward a Helicopter and a Passenger Plane collided with each other over the Potomac River near the Reagan International Airport killing all on board both planes.  Shortly afterward Trump and Musk reversed Course on the FAA firings.

Not long after the FAA debacle it was learned about the DOGE Boys brought in by Elon Musk to apparently destroy the Federal Government while supposedly trimming Government and Searching for Fraud.  One of these youngsters was  fired for promoting Racist Ideology including supporting Eugenics.  He was brought back to work by Elon Musk.  Another member of the DOGE Boys Team had previously been fired from a former Employer for leaking Company secrets.  Apparently Elon Musk thought highly enough of this young man (Big Balls was his Online Handle)  to put him in charge of and give him access to America's Top Cyber Security Agency. What could go wrong there?

Trump then fired the staff of the Nuclear Security Agency.  Of course when he realized that he needed these people to continue to do their jobs he tried to hire them back but found out that he did not think ahead enough to keep Contact information on these people.

Trump also fired CDC Workers who had been working on trying to prevent the spread of Bird Flu.  Once again he tried to hire fired workers back but had not kept their contact Information.  

Trump also put a hiring freeze on National Parks which would keep parks closed during their busiest Seasons.  You guessed it - Reversed.

Firings at The Veterans Administration also required Reversals.

Elon Musk also put out a listing of all the money that had been saved by the DOGE gang but - Guess what - It had to be seriously revised because it was filled with false addition and subtraction - What a surprise - I thought this Elon Musk guy was so smart - Apparently not so much.

Additional Glitches for Trump and Musk have included:

Russia attempting to hire disgruntled National Security Workers fired by Musk & Trump including individuals trimmed from the rolls of the CIA and other American Intelligence agencies.  Does That sound like a good idea to you?  It doesn't to me.

And then, of course, we have what Trump has done with pulling off the street individuals identified as Illegal Immigrants who have often been model Working Americans who have been sent to God knows where by the Trump Administration.  Many were sent to Guantanamo on Military planes until it was realized just how incredibly expensive that was to use military planes and to use Guantanamo.  So those people were either sent back to the U.S. or if they were real unlucky they might be sent to Salvadorian Prisons.

Another Glitch was the purging of DEI, which included purging the mention of the Enola Gay Airplane that delivered the Atomic Bomb to Japan in World War II.  The reason given for purging mention of that plane was that it had the word GAY in it's name.

One good thing that the Trump administration did was to release the remaining JFK Assassination Files unredacted.  Oh OH - Glitch - They also released the Social Security numbers and other personal information on many people involved with the JFK Assassination including one of Donald Trump's Lawyers.

Another Glitch involved the prospect of Elon Musk being scheduled to be briefed by the Pentagon on top secret plans regarding the prospect of war with China.  Supposedly Trump called it off but Musk still met with Defense Secretary, Pete Hegseth.  Neither discussed what they talked about in detail.  

Musk and the DOGE Boys also invaded the IRS and as a result Revenues from American Taxpayers are expected to drop at least 10 percent.  

Trump's tariff threats continue to play havoc with not only the stock markets but also with our Allies around the world.

What the hell are Trump and Musk and Trump's Cabinet up to?

We average Americans do not know.

What we do know is that Americans are turning out in droves to protest the incomprehensible actions of Trump and Musk as they savagely rip through our Government.  Americans (Even MAGA Americans) are showing up at Town Halls and at appearances by Democratic Stalwarts like Bernie Sanders and AOC all over the country.

Clearly what we know at the present time is simply the tip of the iceberg.

Although I do not know for sure the reason why Trump and Musk are tearing through the American government with a slash and burn mentality I do have some ideas regarding why they are doing what they are doing.

Certainly Trump is looking to trim Government or at least wanting to look like he is trimming government so that he can reward those rich people who have backed him so far and make it possible for them to receive another rich peoples tax cut on the backs of all the other Americans who are getting the shaft. 

Another possibility is that Trump, Musk and Vance are trying to soften up or indeed ruin the American Government so that this terrible trio can completely turn over the vast resources of America to Vladimir Putin and Russia.

Then there is the possibility that Trump, Musk and Vance are simply too stupid to figure out how to operate the Federal Government efficiently and competently and are simply following the Extreme Project 2025 Playbook that they have been given by the Heritage Foundation without any thoughts about the extreme consequences of their actions.

Clearly none of these Reasons are good reasons for Trump, Musk and Vance to "Glitch" their way through the Government.  

Certainly Americans who love Democracy and want to keep it need to wake up to the reality that there is nothing "Perfect" in or about the Trump Administration and that the Republicans in Congress don't seem to care about that.

It Is Time For Democrats To Regroup And Get Their Act Together

Yes, My Friends, We Democrats have apparently gotten our asses kicked in this last election, although the more I think about it, the more I agree with Maxine Waters that Elon Musk may have, through his Starlink and other connections, pulled a fast one on us and manipulated the election for Donald Trump.  Why else would Trump have been throwing out statements on the Campaign Trail that he didn't need people to vote for him and joked about his "little secret" with regard to Elon Musk and the election.  Certainly I would not put stealing an election out of the realm of possibility with either Elon Musk or Donald Trump.  If Elon had helped Donald to steal the 2024 Election It would make sense regarding the strange and terrible Fanboy Bond that apparently seems to presently exist between Elon Musk and Donald Trump.  

Why in the hell would Donald Trump be Okay with Elon Embarrassing him day after day if Trump didn't Owe Elon Big Time for helping him to shave off just enough Democratic votes to shift the election to Trump.  Jesus, Trump doesn't even pay attention in the least to his own Grandchildren and now he is Okay with babysitting Elon's son.  

Wait a minute.  Something is way off here.  I can tell you that.

But be that as it may, unless Maxine or I or Rachel Maddow, or somebody comes up with proof about the 2024 election being stolen we are presently stuck with the Worst President we have ever had or would ever hope to have in the United States and although Democratic Prospects for improving our lot are dim at the present time we had better give some thought to getting our Democratic Party straightened out before we completely lose our Democracy possibly forever.

The Truth is that we are certainly not without Heroes in the Democratic Party at the present time.

Bernie Sanders is on a cross country tour speaking to overflow crowds wherever he goes touting Democracy and Democrats and blowing holes in Donald Trump's Lies and Actions.

Other Democrats recognizing reality and speaking out are Tim Walz showing up to town halls where Republicans refuse to show up.

Andrea Ocasio Cortez is also making her voice heard and so is her friend in Congress, Jasmine Crockett.  

Senators Chris Murphy and Adam Schiff are also speaking out daily regarding the state of the Dictatorship.  

Pete Buttigieg is not being heard from as much as he used to be when he was Biden's Transportation Secretary but on a recent Colbert Show following Trump's Bizarre speech to a Joint Session of Congress Pete showed his continuing brilliance as he summed up what we are up against.  

Cory Booker has also been hitting the News and talk show circuit showing that he is not taking what is going on with Trump and Vance without pushback on his part.

certainly late night hosts and MSNBC Hosts are on the case and not allowing the Madness of Trump and Musk to go on without pushback.  

Unfortunately, however, all of those individuals attempting to keep the flames of Democracy burning in America are not the ones in power right now.

Democrats are outnumbered in both the House and Senate, not by much, but by just enough to keep them semi powerless.  They can make noise, however and it certainly appears as though they are doing that.

What worries me is that we are starting to see in the Democratic Party something worrisome that we have seen on too many occasions with Democrats.  Often times when the going gets tough with Democrats they end up fighting among themselves instead of concentrating their fighting spirit on their Republican Opponents.

I see that worrisome infighting beginning to go on right now with Senate Leader Chuck Schumer and House Democratic Leader. Hakeem Jeffries.

Because Chuck Schumer chose not to vote to shut down the Government his leadership is now being questioned by Democrats.

Yes, I understand that many Democrats wanted to use what little power they have to make life difficult for Trump and his Republican Cronies. 

Chuck Schumer decided that he didn't want to be responsible for shutting down the Government.  

Was he Wrong or Right.  I really don't know.  

But all of a sudden he is being trashed not just by Republicans but by members of his own Democratic Party and is being accused of being too old because he didn't want to take a chance to give Trump even more incentive to take advantage of a Government shutdown to further destroy the United States Government.

The truth is that Chuck Schumer has been a steady and capable Senate Democratic Leader for a long time now and this one vote should not be used to push him out of leadership for someone younger and less experienced.

I see and hear the same type of nonsense when it comes to Hakeem Jeffries.  Certainly Democrats in Congress are frustrated but even though Democrats and Republicans are close in numbers in the house and Senate the reality is that in both the Senate and the House, Republicans are in charge and there is very little that the Democratic Leaders can do to change things.  

I surely understand the frustration that Democrats in Congress feel but their problems are not caused by their Leaders.  Their problems are caused by the fact that their numbers don't add up to power for their party.

Clearly we Democrats are up against it right now.  One of the good things about that is that for the most part Democrats have been united in their criticism of Trump and Musk and the Republicans who support them.  Most Democrats have shown animosity toward Trump and Musk and their reckless slash and burn heartless destruction of the government.

I find it disheartening and disturbing to see Pennsylvania Democratic Senator John Fetterman rushing down to Mara Lago to kiss Trump's ass and voting for at least one of Trump's horrible Cabinet picks.  At a time when we need every Democratic Senator to work together to keep the insanity at bay, John Fetterman needs to get back on board the Democratic Train that brought him to Washington.  As a big fan and a formerly enthusiastic voter for Fetterman I will certainly not be voting  for him again if he continues to go down the disturbing path he has been on recently. 

Although all Democrats in Congress must be disturbed and frustrated by what has been going on since Trump retook the Presidency at the present time I think that we Democrats need to get our act together.  One thing that I think we Democrats might take a lesson from when it comes to Donald Trump is to recognize that following the 2020 Election in which Biden clearly won the election Trump made it clear early on after his loss that he was planning to run again in 2024.

Instead of the Democratic Party giving up on their leaders the Democrats should in my opinion do what they can to prepare for the next Congressional and Presidential Election by unifying and working on deciding who will be the next Democratic Candidate in 2028.  

There will be no shortage of Democratic Candidates.  There never has been and I don't think that there ever will be a shortage of Great Candidates in the Democratic Party.  One smart thing that Trump did after 2020 was to get his name out there quickly before any other Republican Candidate could successfully challenge him.  

I think that its early but we need to begin to be smart enough to recognize that Trump is already making noises about running again in 2028 (Even though it would be unconstitutional) or just continuing in office after 2028.

We Democrats need to shut that idea down quickly and we need to start filtering through who is and is not interested in running for President in 2028.  Kamala Harris obviously had a rapid and enthusiastic response last time she ran even though she was hampered by starting late and I think she should be considered for another shot.  She did a great job as VP and as a Candidate for President and in every job she had.

Some of the other Democrats who come to mind include Cory Booker, Pete Butigieg, Chris Murphy, Adam Schiff, Hakeem Jeffries, Tim Walz,  Josh Shapiro, Gretchen Witmer, Andrea Ocasio Cortez, Gavin Newsom,  Martin O'Malley, Wes Moore, Bernie Sanders.

In my opinion Joe Biden should be on the list although with what has happened up to now I would guess that he would not want to put himself through another Political Meat Grinder ever again.

We have seen in the past few weeks that even in the reddest of states that many Republican Lawmakers are hiding out and refusing to meet with their constituents who are angry as hell at what the Trump Administration is doing to our country.  While that has been going on Bernie Sanders and AOC have been touring the country together speaking to overflow crowds everywhere they go who are Mad as hell and not willing to take it anymore.  

If we look back to our past we see that Americans have accomplished a lot through Nonviolent Protest and what we are seeing these days is the sight of Americans recognizing just how precious our Freedom and Democracy continue to be and just how close we are to becoming a Dictatorship. 

We should think very seriously about the fact that Donald Trump does not belong in the White House and That Good Old Joe Biden at his worst would have been one hell of a lot better than what we are suffering through right now.

For God's sake, Republicans in Congress, Have Some Buyers Remorse. Why don't You?

You know damn well that your Constituents are having Plenty of Buyers Remorse even if you don't.
