How Dare Mike Pence Embarass President Trump by Dealing With The Coronavirus In A Competent Manner

March 21st, 2020

My Dear America:

Certainly it wasn't Donald Trump's Fault that the Coronavirus or Covid 19 was unleashed on the world.  Trump has a point in calling Covid 19 "The Chinese Flu."  It is an ignorant thing to say but it is true that The Chinese could have given the world a Heads Up much sooner than they did instead of covering up the ungodly spread of the deadly virus.

Actually, Trump did a couple of things right, it seems, when it comes to Covid 19. The First positive thing he did was He cut off travel from China to the U.S..  Unfortunately the flu was apparently already here by the time he did it, but it was still a positive, yet controversial step in the right direction.

The Second Positive thing Trump did with regard to Covid 19 was to put Mike Pence in charge of setting up a Task Force to help deal with the Virus.

Clearly, Trump saw what a Hot Potato the Coronavirus was going to be and he was not handing it off to Mike Pence to do Mike any favors.  Clearly Trump knew that the crap was going to hit the fan with Covid 19 and he thought he was making a smart move putting Mike Pence in charge before the crap started flying back at whoever was in charge of Covid 19 in the U.S.

What Trump clearly didn't count on when he put Mike Pence in charge of Covid 19 was that Mike would be put out front in this mess and look and sound like what a President should look and sound like.   Trump was denigrating Governors and others like Jay Inslee of Washington (Trump called him a "Snake" apparently because he had the gall to make a short run for the Presidency)
Pence, on the other hand did what the President should have done and did what he could to establish positive relationships with Governors and Mayors all over the country.  Pence also established a top shelf high quality Task Force of appropriate experts in their fields to help set up realistic plans as to what to do and how to do it.

In short, Pence, although he had pretty much been handed a turd was showing intelligence and ability in handling the impossible task that the President had handed him.

Certainly Pence and his Task Force leave much to be desired but his daily briefings have become worthwhile information sessions with Pence and other members of the Task force able to talk with intelligence about what is happening.  No more Trump stumbling over his words or sounding like an idiot. Pence and Company seemed to be able to talk intelligently and appropriately.

Naturally, with Pence outshining Trump completely in the questionable limelight of Covid 19, Trump, who had stepped away from the daily briefings to allow Pence to receive incoming turds, stepped back in and has tried to once again take his place at the head of the table and act as if he, Trump, was the smart one who has put this task force and reaction to Covid 19 together.

Other than Pence and other Task Force members fawning over Trump constantly, they all seem to be tolerating Trump and trying their best to do a good job in dealing with the virus.

Naturally, recent polls show that Trump, not Pence, seems to be getting all the credit for the recently more positive responses to Covid 19.

Bill Maher gave Mike Pence the "Ass Kisser Of The Month Award" recently.

Mike may be an Ass Kisser but it certainly is nice to see someone in charge of Covid 19 who seems to be halfway Competent in doing his job.

Sincerely Yours

Joe Biden's Political Resurrection - A Super Tuesday Miracle

Thursday, March 5th, 2020

My Dear America:

Super Tuesday was Incredibly Super for Joe Biden this week in his race for the Presidency of the United States.  It was a week that saw most of the other Viable Candidates in the Democratic Party Primary Race for the Presidency giving up their Campaigns and giving their support to Former Vice President Biden in his bid for the Presidency.  In a move that was certainly unexpected, both Amy Klobuchar and "Mayor Pete" Buttigieg chose Monday, March 2nd, the day before Super Tuesday to give up their hard fought Presidential Campaign's for the Presidency and climb on board the Biden Train at a rally in Texas where they were joined, not only by Joe Biden, but also by Former Texas Congressman Beto O'Rourke who also threw his Presidential Primary Support to Joe Biden.

For a Man who just weeks ago appeared to be a Washed Up Political Also Ran, it appeared to be a Political Miracle of Epic Proportions happening not only on Monday Night but also on Super Tuesday, as well.  Before Monday night it was expected that Bernie Sanders would be the Candidate who would be the big winner on Super Tuesday.  Following the triple threat endorsements on Monday night, however, the balance of power quickly switched and although Bernie was victorious in California, Biden was victorious in at least 10 states including Texas, where Bernie gave him a run for his money, but in the end came in a close second to Biden.

Both Elizabeth Warren and Mike Bloomberg got lost in the shuffle of Super Tuesday.  Bloomberg won in American Samoa but Elizabeth Warren did not win anywhere including her home state of Massachussets.  Yesterday Mike Bloomberg dropped out of the race for President and threw not only his support but his support network and his money to Joe Biden.

Today Elizabeth Warren dropped out of the race but so far has not endorsed anyone.  Warren is scheduled to appear on Rachel Maddow's MSNBC Show tonight and perhaps if Warren is going to endorse anyone it would seem as though it would be Bernie Sanders but in this strange and interesting campaign for President, I would hesitate to predict anything, least of all who Elizabeth might endorse.

Although I expressed my support for Joe Biden quite awhile ago I have to admit that although I am happy with Joe's progress I am rather saddened that Bernie Sanders seems to be getting the shaft again from the Democratic Party, just as he did in 2016.

Bernie started off this Campaign Season with three good showings in Iowa, New Hampshire and Nevada.  Certainly up until South Carolina Bernie's gigantic crowds and deep monetary pockets added up to what appeared to be a great deal of Momentum.  Joe B. had poor showings in the early states but in South Carolina Joe's promise of support from black voters showed itself to be more than wishful thinking.  Joe's Black voters and, in particular his support from long time Congressman, Jim Clyburn Brought Joe's Campaign back from the dead to the head of the pack.

The truth is that I would have voted for either Bernie or Joe in the November, 2020 Election depending on who was the Democratic Party Nominee.  What I was not sure of until now is who I was going to vote for in the Pennsylvania Primary.  I now know that it will be my fellow Scrantonian, Joe Biden that I will be voting for in the PA Primary.

I have had a number of discussions recently with my Democratic friends who were not too pleased to hear me talking about Bernie's positive qualities.  I do believe that Bernie has many positive qualities and I support and believe in almost every position that Bernie advocates.  I am saddened that I must abandon a man whose ideas I believe in but I realize, like Amy Klobuchar, Pete Buttigieg, Beto O'Rourke and Mike Bloomberg must realize, that we all have one chance to get rid of Donald Trump and when it comes to dumping Trump I think Joe Biden is the man to do it.  I certainly hope that is true.

So, as the Presidential Campaign progresses I find myself torn between Bernie and Joe and wish I didn't have to make a choice.

The truth is that we have had a very diverse and highly spirited campaign so far.  We have had an Incredibly Talented Field of Dreamers and we have had some excellent and interesting debates.  In a way I am disappointed that the field is narrowing but it has to narrow and in the end there will be one person running for President against Donald Trump.

Although I know Bernie Sanders has put his heart and soul into this race for the White House I know that Joe Biden has also put his heart and soul into the race.

I sincerely hope that at some point in time before the Democratic Convention that out of the eyes of the media Joe and Bernie sit down together and decide who will be the President and who will be the Vice President.  I suggest Joe for President.  He already did a good job as Vice President.  I know Joe and Bernie have many differing views but the time is now to work out those differences for the good of the Democratic party and for the United States of America.

We have come too far to blow our opportunity to get Donald Trump out of the White House.  America, you and I can't stand another 4 year of Donald Trump in charge of our country.  We have already lost enough.  We don't need to lose any more.

Although in 2016 Hillary Clinton won the popular vote she lost enough states to give Trump the White House.  Although Tim Kaine is a great person and a great Senator, if Hillary had swallowed her pride and put Bernie on the ticket as her Vice President she may not have lost those states that put Trump over the top in the Electoral College and put a Russian Stooge in the White House.

Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden should learn a lesson from 2016 and swallow their pride and differences in the name of defeating Donald Trump.

Democrats don't always learn from their mistakes but this time around it is too important not to learn how important both The President and Vice President are together in the minds of America's voters and how important it is to defeat Donald Trump.

Sincerely Yours
