The Almost But Not Quite Forgotten Assassination Of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy - 61 Years Down The Line

Tuesday - November 26th  2024 

My Dear America:

2024 has certainly been a Strange and Powerful Year for America.

We have had The Election Of a Lifetime and we are waiting to see what awaits us in the coming year as Donald Trump prepares to move back into the White House, where many of us hoped that he would never again darken its doors.

It is understandable that in this place and this time that it could happen that November 22nd could have rolled around without so much as a thought about what had occurred on November 22nd 61 years ago.  

I understand that probably many Americans might have little or no recollections of that Friday on November 22nd of 1963 when it seemed to me and to many other Americans of my generation as though our lives had suddenly come crashing in on us when we found out from Radio and Television that our Beloved American President and Hero, John Fitzgerald Kennedy had been shot to death on the Streets of Dallas, Texas.  It was an extremely Frightening and Disturbing Realization to think that the President of the United States of America could be taken away from us so Quickly and Violently.  

In some ways it seems to me to be somewhat similar to how I am feeling today, which is completely let down by the fact that Enough Americans were willing to choose God Knows What over Democracy when they voted in the 2024 Election for President, Senators and Congresspeople.

As I have watched the continuing announcements by Donald Trump of people he has chosen to join his Cabinet I have found it almost funny if it wasn't so incredibly disturbing. 

Although Matt Gaetz has been taken out of consideration for Attorney General many other truly disturbing choices remain including Pete Hegseth, a Fox News Host who served in the military who has bragged on air that he hasn't washed his hands in 10 years, causing his Fox and Friends Weekend Female Co Host to quickly move down the couch away from him.  Hegseth is known to have paid off a woman who accused him of Sexual Assault.  He also does not believe that woman belong in combat.  Hegseth is apparently on deck to be the Secretary of Defense.

Another Disturbing Trump Pick for Secretary of Health is Robert F. Kennedy Junior, who was financed by Trump backers as a stalking horse for Trump in order to strip away some Democratic votes from Biden or later on Harris.  Kennedy is well known as an opponent of vaccines and also has an annoying habit of picking up dead creatures for God knows what reasons.  He also has accusations of sexual assault in his background.  Kennedy has apparently stated that when he was younger he used Heroin and claimed that it made him a better student.

Matt Gaetz, Pete Hegseth and Robert Kennedy Jr., along with Donald Trump all have Sexual Assault allegations in their backgrounds.  Not exactly the kinds of people who are normally chosen for these vitally important jobs.

These previous Cabinet Picks are disturbing enough but to my mind the most disturbing Cabinet choice so far is Tulsi Gabbard.  She has been chosen by Donald Trump to be - Get this - The Director of National Intelligence.

 WHAT?

Her qualification for this position apparently is the fact that she is constantly parroting Russian Disinformation in the American and Russian media.  She is practically a Certified Russian Spy who will be at the top of the American Spycraft Food Chain.  She won't even have to search for American Intelligence Information.  It will be delivered to her desk everyday, just like it was being delivered by Door Dash.  

With characters like these, along with Donald Trump's other leadership choices what could possibly go wrong?

PLENTY.

Getting back to the JFK Assassination I guess it is understandable that in today's news it is fairly easy to see how Kennedy's Assassination was not on the top tier of every American's thoughts these days.

In other years there was usually at least some increasingly meager attention that was paid each year to the Kennedy Assassination.

Usually there was a TV News mention, A Newspaper Mention, A New Book, a magazine article,  Possibly a documentary, a movie - something about the JFK Assassination.  No more apparently.

To be honest, I probably would not have paid much attention to November 22nd myself if it wasn't for the fact that I was already in the process of reading a book called "The Passage Of Power" by Robert Caro, which is the last volume in a series called "The Years Of Lyndon Johnson" written by Caro about Lyndon Baines Johnson, who was Kennedy's Vice President and became President following the Assassination.

On November 22nd I just happened to be reading the section of the book about the Assassination.

I have written about the Kennedy Assassination before during previous Anniversaries of November 22nd but there is something far more intense for me this year as we appear to face the Second Inauguration of Donald Trump with something less than enthusiasm and in my case a tremendous fear about where we are headed in the coming months and years.

God Help Us.

We are Certainly going to need God's Help to get through this nightmare intact.

Happy Birthday President Biden - We Didn't Realize How Lucky We were to Have You and Vice President Harris In The White House For Four Years - Now We Do

My Dear President:

Today is your Birthday, President Biden and I know that you will be getting a lot of Birthday wishes today.  I would just like to take the opportunity to add my birthday greeting to those others that you will receive today.

I want to take the opportunity today to say thank you for running for President in 2020.  You took the opportunity in 2020 to push back against the awful Presidency of your predecessor, Donald Trump.  

You were moved enough by the disturbing conduct of President Trump after his shameful comments after Neo Nazis and Klansmen demonstrated their hateful Anti Jewish Rhetoric to get in the Presidential Race and win a four year term as President.

I'm sorry that you had to begin your Presidency under the reckless cloud of suspicion That President Trump falsely created prior to your Inauguration when he lied to his followers about the results of the 2020 election.  Although his shock troops eventually left the Capitol they left the capitol building in disarray with broken windows and with shit of the floor of the Capitol Rotunda.  In the end Trump reluctantly left the White House taking with him countless Top Secret Files that he had no right to take with him.  For a time Trump stopped commenting on how he won the election in 2020 and appeared to be reacting to those Republicans who were in just as much danger as their Democratic counterparts during the MAGA Siege of the  Capitol Building.  But in the end those Republicans who had criticized Trump, with few exceptions, fell in line with the Republican Party Propaganda  and even your former friends in the Senate like Lindsey Graham and Mitch McConnell fell in line with the MAGA Party Line and opposed almost every thing that you tried to accomplish.

But as you have done all your life, President Biden, you marched into the White House on January 20th, 2021 and started to undo the damage that Donald Trump had done in his four years in the oval Office.  In addition, to that you also began to get done what you were legally allowed to do constitutionally to improve the lives of Americans and you have continued to do that for the four years that you were our President.  To your credit, you continue even today to do what is needed for the citizens of our country regardless of their political persuasion.

Due to the leadership of Vice President, Mike Pence being put in charge of Covid Relief, when you arrived in the White House as President you hit the ground running in terms of making Covid Vaccines available to all Americans for Free.  You also worked hard to get an infrastructure program passed and in operation and time after time you continued to make responsible decisions over and over again.

Consequently, Mr. President, you have accomplished a tremendous amount of Progress for Americans each and every day of your presidency.  You have a lot to be proud of and due to your responsible decision making I think that you have made the best decisions that could have been made when it came to Afghanistan, Ukraine and Israel, as well as the United States of America.  

In every way you have shown those Presidents who would come after you just what a successful presidency should look like.

But then came the Debate with Donald Trump and it did not go well.  Many in your party were quick to abandon you and although I was not one of them as I look back on it now I am glad that you chose to pass the torch to Vice President Harris.  You passed that torch with complete support for her in every way possible and I have to say that she not only did a remarkable job as your vice President but she also ran a remarkable and I believe a successful campaign.  In the end there were too many Low Information Voters for her to be successful.

What I want to tell you on this Birthday is that although you might think that the best of your life is over ( And in some ways it might be ) You are still in relatively good or at least acceptable shape.  When I was Unceremoniously "Retired" from my job in 2011 I was very unhappy.  I loved my job and did not feel that I wanted to leave it.  But leave it I did and now that I have been retired for over ten years I realize that the people that put me out to pasture did me a big favor.  Although I sometimes miss my job as a Family Therapist I realize that I am better off now and I promise you, Joe, you will be too.  

It is a tough thing to admit when we realize that we are no longer able to do what used to come so easy to us.  You did a Great Job as Senator, Vice President and President.

Jesus, you live in Rehoboth Beach, for God's sake.  I know that i have seen pictures of you and Jill hanging out on the beach enjoying the beautiful weather.  Now, in a short time you will be able to do that every day.

Do what I did, Joe.  Start a Podcast on Spotify.  They would love to have you, I'm sure.  Write your memoirs and kick Back every day on the beach.  

Your Legacy is safe.  Nobody can blame you for the Furor that is to come.  You did your job and you don't owe anybody anything.  Except for your son, Hunter.  I think you owe him a pardon as you walk out the door of the White House for the last time.  Don't leave him unprotected in Trumpland.

Living In A New And Frightening World Of Revenge Of The LIJO'S

 November 11th, 2024

My Dear America:

It has been a startling and Stunning Week for me as well as for my country.

To be honest, I did expect this election to be a Landslide, Just not a Landslide For Donald Trump.

This is a time in my life that I am grateful to have at least a few Friends who are Democrats and who I know are in as much pain as I am presently.

I have to credit my good friend, Larry for advising me me that on Tuesday after voting he was not going to spend time watching Television coverage of the Election results because like me he expected that it would take at least a few days for the final tally to reveal the winner in the Presidential Election.  I thought that his idea sounded like something that I could do also and I followed along with his method of blacking out Election Results at least for awhile.  Looking back on it I have to thank Larry for giving me one more day of happiness before the roof caved in.

On Wednesday I texted Larry advising him that I was too sick to get together online to play music with him and another friend of ours as we generally did on Wednesday evenings.  After that I called another one of my friends who I was scheduled to jam with later in the week to advise him that I was not going to make it to jam.

That was when my friend presented me with the Horrible Reality Check that was the result of Last Tuesday's Election.

Trump Had Won my friend advised me and to make matters worse in Pennsylvania My Local Democratic Congresswoman and Senator also appeared to have lost to terrible Republican candidates.  

After finding out the results of the election the pain in the pit of my stomach that had already been there seemed to get far worse.

Today, I have begun to feel a little more normal and better health wise but I have no expectation that I will be feeling better politically for a very long time to come.

Clearly Joe Biden is trying to behave more normally than his predecessor did by offering to treat Donald Trump in the way that Joe should have been treated when the shoe was on the other foot and Donald Trump was in office and tried unsuccessfully and unlawfully to keep Joe Biden from his earned Presidency.

Certainly Americans will be reviewing the results of this Election for many years to come because the outcome of this Strange and Terrible Election does not seem to make much sense at all.  

Clearly anyone can see that the right person for the job of President was not the one elected this time around.  It was not the first time that this has happened and it is not likely going to be the last time that this happens either unless Donald Trump in his return to the White House decides that we don't need to have another Presidential Election in four years from now.

What in the Holy Hell was the matter with the American voters who looked at The Two Candidates who were running last Tuesday and saw Donald Trump as being the best Candidate to vote for President.

Yes,  These people who voted for Trump saw him turn a mob loose on the Capitol on January 6th, 2021.  They saw his horrible treatment of everyone he didn't like including threats of Trials and Tribunals and Firing Squads for Adam Schiff and Liz Cheney. They heard him lie about anything and everything including who won the last Presidential Election.  They saw him kiss Putin's ass over and over and almost worship Dictators, Past, Present and I assume future.

And these American Voters looked at Trump in comparison to Kamala Harris, an accomplished Lawyer, Prosecutor, District Attorney, Attorney General, Senator and Vice President and said to themselves:

"Donald Trump is the person I want to vote for"

Jesus Christ, What in the hell was wrong with these People?

I think I have the answer to that Important Question.

I am convinced that many, if not most, of those Americans who voted for Donald Trump in Last week's Election were LIJO'S.

Who, or what are LIJO'S You are probably asking yourself.

I will answer that question for you right now.

One of my Long Time Friends who has always been politically aware and ready for a political discussion on a few occasions when we were discussing Donald Trump's strange political career used the terms "LIJO'S a few times so I asked him "What The Hell is a LIJO"?

He informed me that a LIJO is the following:

"A LOW INFORMATION JERK OFF"

I think that my friend is on the money when it comes to Donald Trump's followers.

We knew they were out there, those Low Information Jerk Offs, we just didn't know how many of them there were.  There were enough of them this time around to turn the tide of this election.  

Although Trump won the popular vote and won in a lot of states he mostly didn't win by very much. and consequently Kamala Harris didn't lose by very much.

But the sad truth is that whether it was by a wide margin or a small margin Donald Trump did Win And Kamala Harris did lose.

I have heard a number of people on television analyzing the election results and many of them seem to be ready to place blame on Biden for not staying in the race or not getting out of the race sooner and Harris for not doing as much as she could have in a lot of ways.

My feeling is that if Biden had remained in the race Trump would have slaughtered him.  It wasn't right that Biden did a remarkable job for nearly four years and got almost no credit for the outstanding job he did but unfortunately that was the way it was after he had a problematic Debate with Donald Trump.  All the attention was paid to Biden's less than stellar debate performance while Trump's Lying throughout the debate was given a pass.  It wasn't right but that's the way it was.

Yes, Kamala Harris came into the Presidential Race with a very limited time left to  campaign but the truth was that she could not really have had a better campaign.  She quickly picked up endorsements from Democrats everywhere and even had some important Republican Endorsements.  Her Crowd sizes were phenomenal and her pick of Tim Walz for Vice President on the Democratic Ticket was the right choice.

Donald Trump's Campaign, on the other hand seemed to be madness unlimited as he rambled, and "Weaved" over and over and seemed to be increasingly unhinged as the Campaign progressed.  He picked a Vice Presidential Candidate that nobody seemed to care for but Amazingly on Tuesday, November 5th There appeared to be just enough LIJO'S to carry him across the finish line to the Presidency.

There seem to be some serious concerns about the possibility of widespread fraud on the part of Republicans on Election day but as disturbing as this election result is do we want to fail to have another legitimate transfer of power from one President to another.  Unless we have proof of election regularities I think we have to face facts.

From all appearances even though we are not happy with the choice it appears as though American Voters have made their choice and like it or not we need to join Joe Biden as he follows the law and passes the political torch as every American President has done for Centuries before him with the exception of the one to whom the torch will be passed to this time around.

God Help Us to accept that which we can no longer Control.

Lets hope that Donald Trump turns out to be a better President than we who did not vote for him expect him to be.

Donald Hitler - The Frightening Last Hurrah Before Election Day - Please Don't Forget That In Germany Adolph Hitler Was Elected By German Citizens

 November 3rd, 2024

As we stand at the Crossroads of whether or not we are going to be able to continue to live in a Country that strives to provide Liberty and Justice For All or become a Right Wing Facist Dictatorship I, like many of my countrymen and women am terrified of the prospect of things going the wrong way on Tuesday, November 5th.  As I write this Last Hurrah just before the Election of a Lifetime I want to take time to thank all of you who have read my Blog and/or listened  to my Podcast and given me the respect of having all of you providing me the chance to write safely and honestly about life in The United States of America. Hopefully I will be able to continue to write safely and honestly in the future but you never know how much time we have left to live safely and honestly in America.  On November Fifth we will know if we have the opportunity to live in a Democracy for another Four Years.  I certainly hope that we will continue to live in Freedom for the sake of our Families for a long time to come.  In any case Thanks to those of you who have joined me from time to time on this Bumpy Ride that has been and I sincerely hope continues to be Democracy in the United States of America.

As we remain days away from what is literally "The Election Of A Lifetime" I am also realizing that in a few days I may be facing the prospect of living in a country where I might not ever get away with the Freedom that I have enjoyed since 2008 with "Letters To A Lost Nation" and since 2000 with "Podcast For A Lost Nation".  Prior to now I have written honestly and without concern about repercussions from my government.  That Freedom that I enjoyed to spout off about whatever was on my mind at the time may soon be coming to an end.  

I sincerely hope that we are not living in the Final Days Of Democracy in America.  If we are, I truly think that it has been a Great Run.  But I certainly hope that we are not through with Democracy yet.  We have had many of our forefathers who died to protect us from the Antidemocratic Menace that we face on this coming Election Day.  Those individuals who gave their lives for the protection of our Democracy need to be considered at this important place and time prior to walking inside the Voting Booth.  I have chosen to vote in person because many Republican Politicians in Pennsylvania the last time out tried to screw around with Mail In Ballots and I don't want to take a chance this time around that they might be successful.  

I can't wait to vote on Tuesday even though the prospect of Donald Hitler winning scares the shit out of me.  I suppose I shouldn't call Donald Trump, Donald Hitler but what the hell, I'm going to do it anyway.

Whatever we call him, Donald Trump Or Donald Hitler, I know that most of you are as tired of hearing his name and his obnoxious whining voice as I am.  

I do appreciate one thing about Donald Trump, though.  As we all certainly know by now Donald Trump is a notorious liar.  He has a history of lying all the time over the course of his running for office and being in office and being out of office and running once again for the Presidency.

And what I sincerely appreciate the most about Donald Trump these days is that in this past election although he told his share of lies about Kamala Harris:

That She's Dumb (Yet the beat his ass so badly in the one and only Debate that he agreed to that he refused to debate her again.)

Trump has done Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party a huge favor in the final days  and hours of the 2024 Presidential Campaign by showing America his true Fascist Tendencies out front and personal.  Although he continues to lie about January Sixth and Madison Square Garden being "Love Fests", many, if not most Americans can hopefully see behind the Bullshit and realize that clearly these Donald Hitler Sponsored Events were indeed plain and simply "Hate Fests".

Thank You Donald for your descent into whatever the hell has happened to you in these final days of your Extreme Emotional and Mental Breakdown.  Your Strange and Terrible Megalomania has certainly gone completely off the rails as you can see your future madness coming at you like a Freight Train Flying toward destruction.  I almost feel sorry for you, Donald, but not quite.  You have surely shown us how fragile our Democracy can be when someone as insane and flawed as you could destroy one of America's longest and strongest Political Parties by insisting that to belong to the Republican Party one must accept Donald Hitler's outrageous lies, Lock Stock and Barrel.

Well, although I'm still not sure and I won't be until the votes are counted, I think that Donald Trump has pushed his followers and the rest of the American Electorate too far off the Grid this time around.  I am convinced that when the dust settles and the votes are counted We Americans will still have a Democracy to fall back on - "If We Can Keep It". And I know we can.

But Regardless, at this point in time I think that the Democratic Party has done all that they can do to Elect Kamala Harris President of the United States.  She has run a Short but Flawless Campaign.  She has had the strongest Campaigners out on the Campaign Trail with her and with Tim Walz.

Obama, Springsteen, The Clintons, Liz and Dick Cheny, Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden: So many Great Democrats and Republicans also out stumping For Kamala and Tim.  

I almost feel that "How Can we Lose."

But now is not the time for overconfidence.  We need every Democrat, Independent and Republican Voter for Kamala to VOTE.  If you have already voted Congratulations, you have done your job.  If you haven't voted yet. Please, for God's sake whatever you have to do get to the polls on Tuesday and cast your ballot for Kamala Harris.

Just think, how will you feel if Donald Hitler wins the Presidency by one vote.

Its down to the wire now people.  We can feel it in the air tonight.  Democracy must never die in darkness in America.  If you are a Republican or an Independent and watch Fox News, Newsmax or OAN, Turn them off.  They are Bullshit Trump's Propaganda Networks.  Also Turn off Steve Bannon, Charlie Kirk and Laura Loomer and come back to Reality, where Facts Matter and Donald Trump is not Sent to America by God.

Wake Up Republicans and Independents.  Your Democracy is slipping away from you.  

It is time to Restore it for another four years.
