Message to Mitt: Shut The Hell Up

Sunday November 25th, 2012

My Dear America:

I apologize for not communicating with you sooner about this matter but I have had an important communication come into my possession that I feel it is imperative to share with you.  I cannot share with you my source for this incredible document, although I will share the contents of the document with you.

It is undated but I believe that we can assume that the document in question was probably written sometime during the week following the November 6th Re-Election of President Barack Obama.

The following letter addressed to Mitt Romney will be printed in it's entirety.

Dear Mitt:

It has come to our attention that during a recent telephone call with your Campaign Donors your conversation was recorded and subsequently that recording was later on obtained by members of the News Media and has become the topic of conversation on every Television and Radio News and Talk Show as well as the subject of commentary by nearly every Newspaper in the United States of America.

Mitt, What the hell were you thinking?  Your message to your donors was that Barack Obama won the election because he gave away too many gifts to his constituency, or rather promised to give too much to his constituency.

Mitt, have you forgotten the incredible amounts of tax and money savings and gifts you had promised to your constituency.  You promised even further tax relief to the corporations and executives of those corporations.  You promised to do away with the savings from Obamacare (Derived from Romneycare) and put the profits back into the Medical Healthcare Business.

Clearly the gifts that you had promised to your donors and the other members of your Republican base would have dwarfed any promises of gifts made by President Obama to members of his base.

Your reasoning expressed to your donors, therefore, regarding why you lost the Presidential Election clearly does not stand up to scrutiny.

The reasons that you lost the election are many and We are not prepared to list all of them in this letter but we will list a few of the most important reasons.

First of all, You lost the election because you didn't get enough votes.

Certainly we recognize that in the red states you did very well and did gather a good many electoral votes in most of those states.  You did not do well, however, in those blue states where the most electoral votes were available.

I have to admit that many of us in the Republican Party must bear some serious degree of responsibility for your loss since our message throughout this past election cycle has been one of fiscal responsibility to the max.

As you are aware that was not the message that we conveyed during the George W. Bush Administration.  Back then our message was "Spend, Baby Spend" on wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as a prescription drug benefit which, quite frankly, was pretty much only a benefit for the drug companies.

You were also, of course, bogged down by the assortment of Clown Candidates that you had to spend good money on defeating during the Pre Convention Debates.

Speaking of Debates that is another good reason why you lost the election.  During the First Debate with President Obama you swept Barack off his game by showing confidence and aggressiveness while he showed nothing but truth.

You lied skillfully enough to look as though you won the debate and you even had the MSNBC Gang of Liberal Debate Commentators angry with Obama for not calling you out on every lie you told.  Quite frankly there wasn't enough time in the hour and a half debate for Obama to call you out on every lie you told and in the end you appeared to be the winner in that debate.

Unfortunately for you and for us there were two other debates to come in which Obama woke up to the importance of debating you and cleaned your clock in both the second and third debate.

I think it is unnecessary for us to continue to press on with other reasons that you lost the election.  The fact remains that you did lose the election and at this point nothing is going to change that.

What is most disturbing about your commentary about Obama giving gifts to Democrats is that it reminds both Democrats and Republicans, donors and voters alike, of your disturbingly disdainful comments to the Florida video in which you commented on the 47 Percent.

Mitt, face facts.  You showed by your 47 Percent commentary that you had nothing but contempt for the 47 Percent and we and you need to recognize that this comment was not only one more slap in the face of the middle class by you, bit it was also the comment that pushed a lot of good people who might have backed you into the Obama constituency.

Long Story Short, Mitt, Those of us in the Republican Party recognize that you are trying to keep your donor base alive for another (Third) run at the Presidency.  We are communicating with you at the present time in order to be brutally honest with you.

We, the members of the Republican Party will do everything in our power to destroy your chances of running for President for a third time.  Certainly you can spend your own money and try again but we are begging you not to waste your resources and ours in the Republican Party Presidential Nomination process.

We do not want you running for President in our Party ever again.

Thanks to you, or we should honestly say partly due to you, our party is a shambles.  We have, along with your help and a great deal of help from the Tea Party, managed to push our party into a corner in which it will be next to impossible for us to win elections.

You are probably listening at present to some of the Republican Voices of the future (as well as future Prime Republican Candidates for President) telling you, in a nice way, for the most part, to shut up and let the party revive itself in the aftermath of your divisive and untruthful campaingn.

Your comments were "Unhelpful" according to Louisiana Governor, Bobby Jindal. That's putting it mildly, Mitt.  Other possible 2016 Republican Presidential Candidate Front Runners like Senator Kelly Ayotte and New Jersey Governor, Chris Christie were also as gentle as Jindal in their criticism of your message to your donors but just as clear in their message to you.

Their message to you, Mitt, just in case you can't process it, is the following:

                                          Shut the Hell Up.

Just in case you are not clear in what their message and the message of other  high profile Republicans was Let us be clear.

As of the counting of the ballots following the November 6th Election, you became Persona Non Grata in our Party.  You are now seriously more of a Pariah than George W.  We in the party want nothing further to do with you and please understand that your donors and our donors who tried to back you have lost a fortune backing a candidate that we did not want in the first place.

If you get out of our Party's politics gracefully now we will try to show you some respect and will keep our anger and our shame over your destructive Candidacy out of the public eye.

We would suggest that you take your family to Disneyland or some other theme park and rest and recuperate before you decide what you want to do next.

We in the Republican Party wish you well in whatever endeavors you decide to pursue, as long as those endeavors do not involve Republican Party Politics.

God Bless you and your family, Mitt and as always, God Bless the United States.

Sincerely Yours

The Republican Party

So ends the Incredible documentation of where Mitt Romney stand with regard to the Republican Party at the present time.

More Lessons From The Long and Winding 2012 Presidential Campaign Road: (Lesson 2 - Rich White Guys are No Longer Calling the Shots in Presidential Politics)

Wednesday, November 14th, 2012

My Dear America:

The dust from the Long and Winding Presidential Campaign Trail seems to have begun to settle and some very interesting things seem to be happening.

Certainly the most bizarre development since the Election last week seems to be the twisted tale of the love life of former General, and up to last week head of the CIA, David Petreaus and current General Allen, who is currently still the man in charge of the troops in Afghanistan.  Rather than get into this military soap opera lets just say that the Generals were bad boys involved with apparently loose and looney women.  If the individuals involved were unmarried their unusual pairings would hardly be news but these individuals were all married to other people who were apparently uninvolved in this scandal, other than being humiliated by the horny goings on of their spouses.

Petreaus resigned his CIA post last week and unlike others whose lustful activities were exposed and they lied about it, Petreaus at least admitted his affair with his attractive married biographer, Paula Broadwell.  General Allen's fate regarding his supposedly "Flirtateous" Emails between himself and married Florida Socialite, Jill Kelly, seems to be still in play.

While this increasingly bizarre sex scandal seems to have sucked all the air out of the Political Media there are other less bizarre and possibly more hopeful signs of life in both the Democratic and Republican Parties, as well as in the American Media.

One truly amazing result of this recent Re Election of President Obama is clearly the fact that White Males in America voted overwhelmingly for Mitt Romney in last weeks election.  Latinos, Blacks and Females were the coalition who kept Barack Obama in the White House.

Post Election Media coverage seems to be showing that both the Democratic Party and the Republican Party are recognizing that it is clearly a new day in American Politics when White Guys (Especially Rich White Guys) have become almost irrelevant in the American Political System.

Although I was not among the members of my Male American Species who voted overwhelmingly for Romney, I am still stunned by how worthless my brand has become in American Politics. I am glad that I voted for the President but I feel sorry for those other white males who saw Mitt Romney as the future of America.  I personally don't understand why in the world the Majority of White Male Voters would vote for a Lying Phony like Romney but they did.  That is painfully clear to me.

Certainly Romney, with his White Male Support, did take a great many Red States in the Presidential Race but the Obama Campaign Strategists put together a great Pre-Election and Election Day Organization which almost guaranteed that Obama voters would be reminded to get to the polls by phone or by neighborhood contacts on Election Day.

Clearly the Obama Victory can be traced to the number of Hispanics, Blacks and Women who showed up at the Polls.

One other Post Election result is the fact that currently the Republican Party, which has been insulting and obnoxious toward Hispanics, Blacks and Women, are suddenly looking at their policies with an eye toward Re-Evaluation, Reconciliation and Revamping of their party policies.

Louisiana Governor, Bobby Jindal, has stated that the Republcan Party can no longer be a "Stupid Party."  While I agree with Governot Jindal, I think he might look at some of the "Stupid" things he has done such as advocating for Creationism to be taught in Louisiana schools.  Governor Jindal is on the right track, however, in recognizing that the days of the Tea Party control of the Republican Party better be over soon if the GOP hopes to survive.

Jindal is not the only Republican looking to re-evaluate the party.  John Boehner states that he is ready to deal with the President to avoid the pitfalls of the Fiscal Cliff.  Boehner seems to be one of those Republicans who has at least claimed to have seen the light of inspiration following the November Election.  Time will tell how bright that light truly is.

One of the great bonuses from the recent election results, to my mind, at least, is the disintigration of the career of Karl Rove as a Guide and Predictor of Republican success.  After being entrusted with countless millions of dollars by his Rich American Donors (and God knows Who Else) his American Crossroads PAC certainly put out the negative ads, which Karl had promised his donors would result in Obama's defeat.  It was wonderful to watch the man that George Bush called "Turd Blossum" on Fox News continuing to see Victory for Romney in sight on Election Night while everybody else even on fox News was recognizing the reality of Romney's defeat.  Currently I believe that Rove has probably applied for the Witness Protection Program to keep him from being hunted down by his angry Millionaire Donors, who want their millions back.

Rush Limbaugh continues to sing his Anti-Obama Song day after day but the truth is that Rush is looking for controversy every day.  He is unconcerned with  the health and welfare of either the Democratic or the Republican Party.  He is concerned only with the healthand welfare of the Rush Limbaugh Party.  His Right Wing Rants have kept him on the air for this long.  I would like to predict that his days are numbered but I predicted that after the 2008 Election and unfortunately I was wrong.

Apparently Sean Hannity, second in command of Right Wing Radio and also a  Fox News TV Host, claims to have also seen the light that John Boehner also claims to have seen and Hannity is talking about the prospect of Immigration Reform, something that would not have happened prior to the Obama Election.

Certainly the Political Landscape has changed and it is a new day for you, America.  Minorities (mainly Blacks and Hispanics, as well as Women) will continue to outnumber White Guys and if Republicans want to win elections their shrill Anti- Obama, Anti-Black, Anti-Hispanic and Anti- Woman messages need to disappear as quickly as the influence of White Guys has disappeared in the past few years.

As America stands on the edge of the Fiscal Cliff, on which a failure to act could lead us back to another Recession or, God Forbid, a Depression, The Republican Party also stands atop a Political Cliff, on which a failure to recognize reality might very well lead to the extinction of the Republican Party.  If I was a Republican I would be shouting very loudly to my Party Leaders not to take us off that Political Cliff but to come back to reality and realize that our country is not the one that Republicans want it to be.

Our Country is the one that it is and if the Republicans continue to commit Political Suicide we will all be going down with them.

So I appeal to all of my Republican Brothers and Sisters to please recognize reality and keep us all from going the way of the Dodo, or the way of Allen West.

In the words of the old Wilbert Harrison Blues Rock song

"Well When Things Go Wrong, As they Sometimes Will
And the Road You Travel is all Uphill

Let's Work Together, Come On Come On
Lets Work Together, Come On People

Hey Now, Together we will stand
Every Boy, Girl, Woman and Man"

Sincerely Yours

Give Em Hell Barry

Friday, November 9th, 2012

My Dear America:

Just days after his re election to the Presidency of the United States President Barack Obama had a News Conference at the White House today and made it crystal clear to all gathered there and all who would see and hear the sound bytes from the News conference that it is a new day in American politics.

According to the President the people of the United States have spoken through their votes and it is time to start getting things done in Washington.  Although the President remained as cordial and pleasant as he normally is he made it clear to all who might hear him that it is time to start getting things done in Washington before the Republicans drive us over the so called Fiscal Cliff.

There were a few very important things that the President said today.  He indicated that a bill has already been passed by the Senate to provide tax relief for those making under 250 Thousand Dollars a year.  As if to emphasize his readiness to sign that bill into law if it is passed by the House of Representatives, the President pulled a pen out of his pocket and stated that he had that pen all ready to sign that bill as soon as it was passed by the House and delivered to him.

He said that he is willing to negotiate with members of the Senate and House and is willing to compromise on many of the items on his agenda.

He made it clear, however, that there was one issue that he was unwilling to agree to.  He is unwilling, he said, to balance the budget on the backs of the poor and the middle class.  He is, he said, only willing to seek fiscal responsibility by transferring some of the fiscal burden to those making over 250 Thousand Dollars a year.

The President obviously feels that it is time to be fiscally responsible and is presently in a strong position by standing out front of this issue right now and showing his willingness to meet with Leaders of Congress next week to get the ball rolling.

Good for you, Mr. President.

Sincerely Yours

It's Morning in America and our First Black President is Going to Remain President for Four More Years: Lessons From the Long and Winding 2012 Campaign Road (Lesson 1: Enjoy Your victory)

Wednesday, November 7th, 2012

My Dear America:

It is the day after the polls closed following one of the strangest and most contentious Presidential Elections in our Nation's history.

Barack Obama has won the Presidency for the second time and Democrats of all stripes, or at least of most stripes, are ecstatic.

Republicans, on the other hand, are licking their wounds and perhaps wondering if they weren't extreme enough this time around and need to go the extra wacky mile the next time to be successful.

There is certainly plenty of praise to go around for the 2012 Winner and blame to go around for the Loser but the reality is that we came close to being bought by the rich and powerful Republican Right Wing and those of us who are Democrats had better recognize that our party has changed and not just for this election but for a lot of elections to come.

I spent most of Election Day volunteering as a poll watcher for the Obama Campaign and got a chance to see in the High Rise for the Elderly B'nai Brith House in Allentown, Pennsylvania that Hispanic voters showed up for Obama in droves.  Not only did they show up to vote but many of them braved the cold by standing outside of the polling place because there was no room for them in the jammed large Polling Place for most of the extremely cold day.

These people were dedicated and clearly recognized that their futures were on the line and were in extreme Jeopardy if Mitt Romney was elected.  Pennsylvania and several other northeast states went for Obama and the Midwest and many of the western states went to Romney.

There are many lessons to be learned from the recently ended Presidential Campaign but I will not be writing about them today.

Today is a day for celebration for a job well done by an extraordinary American President.  Today is a day for Barack Obama to be happy with his Presidency, as well as with his Presidential Campaign.  It is also a day for  for Democrats to be happy with themselves, as well as happy for their President.

I'm sure the Right Wing Money Men are wondering today about the foolishness of spending so much of their money for such an unsatisfying result for them.

I just wish that the money boys give some thought about beginning to pay their fair share of taxes, which might really help this country get our deficit under control, which they have long complained about.

But that is for another day too.  Today let's just enjoy the fact that we will be able to trust our President to tell us the truth during the next four years instead of having a notorious Liar living on 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

We have a lot of problems in this country that the Right Wing Millionaires might do well to focus on helping to try to solve.

Instead of focusing your generosity on Politicians why don't you Rich Buggers try to unload some of your wealth on the Red Cross or the Salvation Army and help other cash strapped Americans get their lives back after Hurricane Sandy.  You claim to be concerned about your fellow man and many of you claim to be Christians.  How about a little Christian Spirit of Giving to those who have lost everything but their lives.

That might be a good way to start atoning for your sins in that lively Christian Spirit.

Sincerely Yours

Jerry Gallagher

Mitt Romney: The Big Republican Liar and the Big Republican Lie

Saturday, November 3rd, 2012

My Dear America:

Well, Hell Week seems to be over, at least for my wife and I.  The lights are back on after a day and a half of darkness on Monday and Tuesday and after Hurricane Sandy blew through the Northeast with a power and a devastation level, especially in New Jersey and New York, that we have never seen before in our lifetime.

On Tuesday when we woke up with the electricity still off I walked out into the daylight and made my way through non working traffic lights to Giant Markets.  I knew from last years snow and ice storm that Giant would be open because they have a generator and that they would have coffee.  I got my coffees, the last donuts on earth, apparently and some triple A batteries.

When I got back home, while drinking my now lukewarm coffee and eating my delicious chocolate donuts, I put my newly purchased batteries into our tiny long unused transistor radio and started searching for a local station that could tell us something about the storm in our area and most importantly when we might get our electric power back.

After finding nothing but what seemed to be high powered Christian Stations all over the dial (When did all these Christian Stations take over the Radio Airwaves) I finally found what sounded like our local Television Station (WFMZ) broadcasting the noon news.  While they had storm news it was not very helpful or very informative about the power outage except for stating that there were several millions of us without power.

I kept listening to the station after the WFMZ news went off and on came an identifier stating that I was listening to WAEB Newsradio.

OKAY, maybe now I would find out more about the storm damage and when I might look forward to eating hot food and watching television again.  I kept listening.

Next, on the radio, I heard the voice of a local Right Wing Half Wit Rush Limbaugh Wannabee named Bobby Gunther Walsh.  I knew this guy to be a real phony but I still listened.  After all, It was him or All Christian, all the time.

Gunther Walsh did a very short piece talking about how Obama was once again taking credit for something good, namely the fact that he was Johnny on the spot for the people of New Jersey trying to have the government respond to them and for them.  That really bugged Gunther.  He then started railing against Obama for such things as taking credit for killing Bin Laden and saving the Auto Industry.  Gunther cited a bunch of what he saw as Obama failures that he felt Obama did not take credit for.  Thank God, Gunther's rant was short enough that I didn't throw my tiny radio through my living room window and make matters  worse and my house even colder than it was.

After Gunther's obnoxious presentation I figured I would keep listening.  After all, they did call it Newsradio.  There had to be some more serious news coming sometime.

What came on next was Rush Limbaugh.  Good God, wasn't Gunther Walsh bad enough.  Now the biggest, fattest Liar of them all came on with guns blazing.

OBAMA is the Worst President ever.  He's not a champ like Mitt Romney.

WTF.  Didn't these Obnoxious Bastards ever take a break from their Lying, Disrespectful, Outrageous, Distorting, Disturbing Rants against the President of the United States.

In a world where people were losing their Electricity, their Homes and in some cases, their Lives, all these Rat Bastards could think about was how to screw the President once again.

Of course it was not the first time that I recognized that Mitt Romney and his Republican Cohorts were Notorious Liars.  That fact has been clear to me for a long time.

It continues to amaze me that in a world where the 99 Percent far outnumber the one Percent, that there are enough ignorant, stupid, insane or otherwise deficient people out there ready to vote for Romney and give him a fighting chance at being President.  How in the world can so many people vote against their personal interests and be swept into the Romney camp.  It boggles the mind.  At least it boggles mine.

Although there was not much to love about this week, except for my grandchildren enjoying having an unexpected break from school, there was also one news story that, once we got power back, we were able to see for ourselves.

That story was the apparent Bromance between Republican New Jersey Governor, Chris Christie and President Obama.  Christie apparently appreciated Obama's quick and sincere response to the New Jersey devastation in the wake of Hurricane Sandy and had no qualms about saying so.  As Obama and Christie toured the devastated Jersey Shore area together they clearly got along well and had numerous hugs between them and with many Jersey residents.  They also said nice things about each other, which, of course, pissed off Romney and his Right Wing Republican supporters.

Now, truth be told, I don't like Christie.  I think he is a self aggrandizing Politician.  But I do respect the way he has begun to handle the New Jersey disaster and I really respect the fact that he seems to have truly
shown himself to be his own person before Sandy and certainly after Sandy, as well.  Does he love Obama.  Probably not.  But is he fool enough to backstab the President when the President is stepping up to the plate to help his state.
No, he is not.  Only a fool would do that.  Rush Limbaugh, who has no more responsibility for people than to sit in a broadcast booth every day and bullshit nonstop for hours, is seeming to all of a sudden find fault with Chris Christie for Christie's doing what is in his best interest and more importantly, what is in the best interest of his state.

Rumor has it that when Romney called Christie asking to accompany Christie on his tour of the Jersey devastation for a Phony Photo Op, Christie told Mitt "No".

It seems to me as though this whole Christie-Obama situation is reminiscent of Attorney Joe Welch's response to Joe MCarthy in an era long ago.  MCarthy  had ruined countless lives by accusing many Americans of being Communists with no real evidence or truth.  MCarthy had intimidated everyone, including his Senate colleagues, until this unknown lawyer stood up to him in a Senate Hearing room in front of the New Media Television Cameras and called MCarthy out.

"At Long last, Sir," Welch said to MCarthy, "Have you no shame."

In a way that is what Chris Christie has said to Romney.

"At long last, Mitt," Christie has said, "Have you no shame about being a liar and a Phony."

"No," is the resounding answer from Mitt and his Tea Party and Corporate Buddies.  "We're not ashamed at all."

After all, Mitt won the first debate by lying about every subject except Big Bird and PBS.  Obama told the truth in that debate and in the other two debates, which Barry O clearly won.  Mitt lied in all three debates but I thought his slickest move was in the third debate in which he agreed with Obama on nearly every aspect of Foreign Policy because anyone listening to him knows that Romney knows nothing about Foreign Policy.

Mitt has lied about Bain Capital, which destroyed far more jobs than it created.

He lied about Massachusetts, where his lack of bipartisanship was legendary and his Romneycare plan was exactly the same plan that has become Obamacare.

He lied about the Olympics, which he was able to save only due to Government money coming to the rescue.

He lies constantly about how he cares about the middle class, which is true malarky because the people he truly cares about are millionaires and billionaires.

The biggest question with Mitt Romney is what hasn't he lied about.

And speaking of lies, as we are positioned a couple of days away from one of the most important choices of our lives I find myself thinking about a good friend of mine who has insisted for some time that we are sliding further and further toward a situation that is reminiscent of Nazi Germany.  Although I agreed with him early on that there were disturbing signs here and there, I still found it hard to believe that this was really happening.  As time goes by, however, the disturbing signs are becoming clearer and even more disturbing.

The Republican Tea Baggers are continuing to prevent government, (particularly Congress) from working unless they are in charge and calling the shots.  Although Bill Clinton seems to be a Great Statesman these days think back to what the Radical Republicans put Bill through during the nineties.  They hounded him from the beginning to the end of his Presidency.

What is most astonishing to me is that Congressmen like Charlie Dent on my area and Paul Ryan who voted for two unfunded wars and a prescription drug bill that was dictated by the Health Care Industry, have the balls to now present themselves as deficit hawks as they try to get rid of great programs that help people and not corporations.

Money in Politics is way out of control and is putting rich corporate donors in charge of what they feel are annoying regulations that protect consumers and limit big business from doing anything that they want.

The signs are everywhere.  People are so disheartened that they don't care to vote or contact their congressional Representative to complain.  The average middle class person has been screwed so much that it is simply an expected thing.

We need to wake up to reality, people.  This is our country and we need to take it back from the Greedy Bastards that have stolen it from us.

Oh, and Congratulations to the early voters who have stood in line in Florida and elsewhere to exercise their sacred right to have a say in their government.  Most of the voter Intimidation and Suppression Laws have been pushed back for this election.  I am hopeful that these efforts on the part of Right Wing Republican Governors to help their Republican Party Presidential Standard Bearer will backfire and that more Democrats, Independents and Disillusioned Republicans will flock to the polls and Reelect President Barack Obama.

If we don't accomplish this Democratic Miracle in the age of Bullshit Storms of Republican Party sponsored and Republican Leaning PAC sponsored Television Ads that are nothing but lies and distortions, we are screwed and not too far away from the days when the Lying Bastards that we put in charge start carting us off to the Work Camps and Concentration Camps.

If we allow these Heartless Lying Bastards to take full charge of our Government we may as well say "Goodbye" to Democracy and Freedom in America and those of us in the 99 Percent will have no one to blame other than ourselves.

In this age of deception and division it is up to us to get out and VOTE on Tuesday.  If you don't vote Tuesday then don't bitch about what the liars and Lunatics have in store for us.

See you at the Polls on Tuesday.

Sincerely Yours

Jerry Gallagher
