The Stench of Paul Ryan
Monday, October 1st, 2012
My Dear America:
Last week a story came out on Politico that has haunted me ever since I heard about it.
According to Roger Simon, who wrote the Politico story, a former Political Director of the Republican Party in Iowa named Craig Robinson recently made a statement that said the following:
"I hate to say this but if Paul Ryan wants to run for National Office again he will have to wash the Stench of Mitt Romney off of him."
Shortly after this, according to Roger Simon, Paul Ryan took great delight in calling Mitt Romney "The Stench" whenever he got the chance to refer to Mitt.
Simon cited a quote that Ryan told one of his aides "If The Stench calls tell him I'm busy."
Now I am no fan of Mitt Romney. In fact, I would agree that especially after his comment about the 47 percent of Americans not paying taxes and freeloading on the well to do, that I would agree that he certainly does have a bit of A Stench about him.
The problem that I have with Ryan's calling Romney "The Stench" is that Romney picked him as his running mate and the obnoxious, arrogant, Ayn Rand loving Ryan should have the decency to be at least minimally grateful enough to Romney for putting him on the ticket.
Clearly Ryan sees being chosen as Romney's running mate as being akin to being chosen first mate on the Titanic. He may be right about his choice. Certainly there is not a lot of reason right now for glee in the Romney campaign. It seems like one misstep after another on the way to another unsuccessful political campaign for Romney.
Certainly one of those missteps, in my estimation, was Romney's choice of Ryan as his running mate. This U.S. Congressman, who has definitely been soft pedaling his extremist views these days was a terrible choice for Romney and if these two fools would by some quirk of fate get elected God bless us, one and all.
If that disaster ever occurs it is not only Romney who will be stinking up the White House.
Certainly Ryan will be emitting an incredible Stench of his own.
